Come and join us for the Ellicott PTA Yard Sale!!!

Mark your calendar for April 29st, 30th, May 1st, and bring in donations!! The small community of Ellicott is pulling together in the midst of tragedy. Friday and Saturday, a yard sale and cookout are being held in an community-wide effort to raise money for six families in their community who are in need. God's Pantry, a non-profit organization that played a key role in organzing the event, says it's a no-brainer; their cohesive community is always there for one another. "There's not a lot of money per se out here, but there's a lot of heart and with all of us pulling together -- a dollar or two here -- we can make a difference," says Carey Adams of God's Pantry. The six families, which have been affected by losing loved ones and battling breast and throat cancer, are more than grateful. Cynthia Brandon, a high-schooler whose parents were involved in a car accident last week and will be receiving money, added, "I've known a lot of these people my entire life. For them to just welcome us graciously without even thinking about it... It's really an awe-inspiring feeling. Tears to think about. On Friday, the event begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. On Saturday, the event starts at 8 a.m. and ends and 3 p.m. Both yard sales and cookouts are at Ellicott High School, located at 350 Ellicott Highway. Close to $1,000 has been raised thus far. .(provided by NewsFirst5.com)
